Read your E-reader

So it is June and time for read your e-reader. I have completed 4 books so far for this challenge, one of them is not for any prompts.

1. The House on Friefly Beach - Jenny Hale - 4 prompts

2. About Tomorrow - Abbi Glines - 1 prompt

3. The Tanglewood Tea Shop - Lilac Mills - 2 prompts

4. The Family Across the Street - Nicole Trope - 0 prompts.

I am now working on book 5 which is One Italian Summer, by Rebecca Serle. It is kind of slow, but I will get through it. Will update again soon!

Series-a-thon was a sucess

So I did complete the whole Throne of glass series by May 31, 2022. I have never read a series that was made so fresh with each and every book. I felt no dread starting a new book of the series and I was sad when each book was over, especially when it was the last book.

I love Sarah's writing style so much. It is so fluid and captivating. Hard to stop turning the pages, and before you know it, you have finished a book. Her imagery is masterful. The world building is just amazing and beautiful. The characters are breath taking. It is really hard to pick a favorite character when each one is so different, crafted with their own unique personalities. They are all flawed and quirky, they each have their own pros and cons, yet they can all seem to come together and form alliances that can put the best friendships to shame.

Just beautiful writing, I loved every minute of this reading journey. I am sad that it is over. I so look forward to her other series that I have yet to read. Sarah, don't ever stop writing!

Throne of Glass series - Continued Series-a-thon

Ok so I just finished book 4 in my series-a-thon of Throne of Glass. Oh my goodness, these books just get better with each and every one that I read. Why on earth did I wait this long to read such an amazing series? IDK, but I am so glad that I am reading it now.

There is really nothing more I can say about the books in this series. They just get better with every book I read. The world building never ceases, bringing to readers a new elegance with every new book they read in the series.

I enjoy how the author tricks the readers into believing one thing, yet giving them something else entirely. Many times I had a 'gasp' that tuned into a 'whew.' If that makes any sense. We just get something new with every book, and I love that, never a dull moment.

The characters are so great that I can't even decide on a favorite. All of them have their flaws, their quirks, their pros and cons, but somehow in the middle of all of their differences, they come together, and they conquer. Truly the best series I have read to date.

Throne of Glass Series-a-thon

Wow this series is so good! I just finished Crown of Midnight. So amazing. I feel like the author gets better and better with each book in the series. I look forward to picking up the next and the next, rather than the dread I usually feel when it comes time for reading a fantasy. The fluidity and the flow of the story makes the books really hard to put down, and makes me want to read well past bed time.

The plots thickens, the mystery greater, with each book. I feel like I belong there, in that world, that I have become a part of the story. The world building is awesome, the imagery, just amazing. The characters are more authentic and credible. Which makes the stories so satisfying. Our main character gets stronger with each book, more defined and understood. I love that.

Ugly Love - Colleen Hoover

Ok so this book was a 'spur of the moment' read was not planned in the slightest. This book may even be my favorite of hers so far. This will be the 4th one I have read by her, and all I can say is that I hope all of her books make me feel like this one did.

I loved everything about this book, the plot, the characters, the prose, just the poetic writing style overall. I feel like the author overdid herself with this one. Cap was one of my favorite characters in this story. He made so much sense, probably because he was an 80 year old man. Respect your elders, they know what they are talking about.

Now on the other hand, there are some parts to the story that can be difficult to read, and may bother some readers, and there are some parts that will just rip your heart right from your chest, but in the end, the readers will feel something.

Opposites Attract! - Camilla Isley

This is a first time read for me with this author, and I loved it. The writing is so fluid and easy to read which made for a very quick read. I really enjoyed the plot of the story, I also loved the humor and the heartfelt moments as well.

I feel like the characters start out on pretty bumpy ground with readers and with each other alike, but they are so relatable, and believable. They definitely grew on me pretty quickly. I have to say that Lucas was the favorite character for me in this one.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes light, whimsical romances with a touch of humor mixed in throughout the story. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author.

Seven Days - Alex Lake

WoW! That was quite the story. It had everything a good thriller is supposed to have. It was chilling, disturbing, and creepy all rolled into one. I loved the twists and turns and right when you thought it was over, it wasn't. So well written. It flowed well with never a dull moment.

The plot is what sold me on reading the book in the first place. I mean a girl who is abducted at 15 and left to survive in a basement for 12 years, baring 3 children from the monster who had abducted her. Leaving her entire family and then left to fight for her life and the lives of her kids. Yea it sucked me in rather quickly.

The characters were fantastic. I loved everyone of them, even the bad guy in which you find out who it is from the very beginning. Definitely a character that you will love to hate. He was super delusional, wicked, disturbing and out and out menacing. I thought every one of the characters were very realistic, relatable, and definitely flawed. I loved seeing so many sides of them, dealing with loss, and recovery.

I look forward to all of the author's books. Well done Mr. Lake!
