The Last Time I Lied - Riley Sager - 4.5 stars

 WOW WOW WOW...*GOBSMACKED* At first I thought the ending was going to be quite disappointing for me, but..... I was pleasantly surprised when the author wrapped it up differently than I thought. It was starting to feel rather unfinished for me as i neared the end. *BAM* I was slapped in the face with the perfect ending to the book.

I really enjoyed the plot of this book, which is why I picked it up in the first place and I wanted to read something by this author. I thought that there was quite a bit of mystery surrounding the story, both past and present and I found the author trying to fool us as readers a few times. LOL I found myself working pretty hard trying to figure out what was going on, who are the bad people and who are not.

I loved the characters in this story as well. My favorite was of course the main character, Emma. I loved the way she interacted with other people, how she was confident and unafraid to speak what she thought, regardless of her past or present. I also like how she stuck to her guns and did not give up in her quest to find the answers she was seeking to this mystery of 15 years ago. It really made her an ideal character for me.

I will definitely read more from this author in the future. I love how fluid and engaging his writing style is. He can definitely keep readers glued to the pages from start to finish.

The Girl in the Mirror - Rose Carlyle

 This book gave me one of those deep rooted WTF moments! The ending of this book, I thought was going to be very predictable, instead, I got the shock of my life! OMG! I just can't wrap my ahead around it. Let's start at the beginning...

I felt like the beginning started out kind of slow, and this was because the author wanted to set up this absolutely, crazy, family dynamic. he wanted readers to learn about the characters also as individuals, who they are, what they want...so I understand the slow build up in the story, it made it worth it. And when I say crazy family dynamic, I really mean it.

The characters are also pretty crazy in this book, but I really enjoyed just about all of them for who they were and they were all such a hot mess it was laughable at times. When you read the top portion of the synopsis where it says: "Identical Twins. One wants what the other has. How far will she go to get it?" Choose wisely.

Thriller Thursday - A new Segment

 The first book featured for thriller Thursday is the book called The family Across the Street, by Nicole Trope. Her is my review for that book: 

Oh my goodness, no words for this books. One of those stories where the ole saying "Never judge a book by it's cover comes into play full swing. Definitely and on the edge of your seat thriller with a killer plot and an unbelievable plot twist that I never saw coming.

The author can spin a very breath taking and dramatic story. Her writing is very fluid and makes it hard to put the book down! I loved every minute of it even though I thought the police active really stupid.

**There could be triggers in this book for some people.

Jar of Hearts - Jennifer Hillier - 4 stars

 This was a great book. It flowed so well. The writing is very fluid. Plenty of drama to keep readers attention through the whole book, so that was great. Now, I do understand why the author ended the book the way she did, maybe for a bit more drama, a bit more punch to the story, however, I wish it had been ended a little bit different, a little more realistically.

The plot was great, and very engaging. I did figure out the twist of the tale before readers were made aware of it, so that was a little disappointing, but it was kind of made obvious so I am sure many readers had figured it out. The characters were pretty darn good and had decent backstory, so that made the characters very realistic and believable.

Overall, great thriller with just enough punch, that is definitely worth the read. I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

 So it is June and time for read your e-reader. I have completed 4 books so far for this challenge, one of them is not for any prompts.

I am now working on book 5 which is One Italian Summer, by Rebecca Serle. It is kind of slow, but I will get through it. Will update again soon!

Series-a-thon was a sucess

 So I did complete the whole Throne of glass series by May 31, 2022. I have never read a series that was made so fresh with each and every book. I felt no dread starting a new book of the series and I was sad when each book was over, especially when it was the last book. 

I love Sarah's writing style so much. It is so fluid and captivating. Hard to stop turning the pages, and before you know it, you have finished a book. Her imagery is masterful. The world building is just amazing and beautiful. The characters are breath taking. It is really hard to pick a favorite character when each one is so different, crafted with their own unique personalities. They are all flawed and quirky, they each have their own pros and cons, yet they can all seem to come together and form alliances that can put the best friendships to shame. 

Just beautiful writing, I loved every minute of this reading journey. I am sad that it is over. I so look forward to her other series that I have yet to read. Sarah, don't ever stop writing!
